- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2017Nick Murray is the best. If you are a financial advisor, his books should be required reading. He truly knows how to talk to advisors because he was one. He's been in the trenches and knows exactly what goes through our heads and those of our clients. I have copies of all his books in duplicate. One set at home and one at the office. He responds to all emails almost immediately. What a great man.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2020This book is packed with great concepts that will help you improve your practice. There were many takeaways for me, not just one or two like with most books I read on the topic of investment advisor practice.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2014Wish someone would have recommended this to me years ago. I would have structured my business totally different! A must read for any 'new' advisor, meaning that you absolutely need to read it unless you are ready to retire.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2001As you read this book, a thousand lightbulbs will go off over your head - "Why didn't I think of that?" "Hey, I'm going to use that information when I talk to my clients." This is the bible for financial advisors as Nick Murray provides those steps needed to be successful in the financial services business. He really helps you to paint vivid, understandable pictures for those you help and gives great advice regarding the habits needed to be successful. Should be read annually!!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2014As any book that Nick writes the lessons are the best for any financial advisor that enters into the world of financial services specifically mutual funds. I recommend better the New Financial Advisor book, because is a compilation well structured and design after the excellent investment book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2014Love his strategies how he sets up investments for clients. Not just a "sales" book. Only thing I didn't like is that it could have been 200 pages instead of 400.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2005I can't add too much to the already great reviews on this book. It is out of print, but it was worth the price. The chapter on "Painless Prospecting" alone is worth getting the book. This profession is not easy, and Nick does not shrink from telling the truth. But anyone can succeed if they work hard and follow Nick's general plan.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2014This isn't "A" book on the financial advice profession, it's "THE" book. Buy a six pack of highlighters, you're going to need them.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Financial Adviser's Bible
If you're a financial adviser, you simply MUST buy, read and cherish this book. For me, this is the definitive scripture that we all, as advisers, should live by. You aren't doing it right until you subscribe to the wisdom of Nick Murray. Forget everything you know and READ THIS BOOK.

This is a must read for anyone interested in growing their financial planning practice in a way that will create client loyalty and retention. It goes very much against conventional wisdom, but then, when did anything conventional produce exceptional? Particlularly like the way it is written as it compares the Journeyman (normal) practices to the EIA (the new you). But then again, anything Nick writes is easily accessible and thought provoking.
