- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2011I have been using this book as the perfect companion to my 2nd-year Pathology course. Why is this book so great? Well, they make things simple using AWESOME cartoons and great neumonics. This is the PERFECT way to study and retain all the info that comes with such a huge topic as pathology. I would always read this book FIRST, get a good overall understanding of the topic of the week, and THEN go on to read the detailed patho-books (such as Robbin's).
I am surely planning on keeping this book throughout my entire education and career since it is a great quick guide for refreshing on the clinically useful pathology and broad-overview of critical pathology.
I have been recommending to my classmates both this book (Pathology Made Ridiculously Simple) and actually most of the other books by MedMaster (Microbio, Neuroanatomy, and pharmacology are the favorites of mine).
- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2013My daughter is a nursing student. She said this book takes the material from her classroom text much easier to read, review and understand. She also loves the diagrams as she is a pictorial learner.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2017very good study tool, though some of the information is a little off, but otherwise great books for quick study. Used it to study for Board exams and it was really helpful.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2009This book is great as a warm up before tackling the chapter in Robbins. The cartoons, mnemonics, and easy tone make pathology a little less intimidating.
I would read the chapter in this book first, and it made reading Robbins much less overwhelming.
I would not use this book as a primary source for studying path, but it has turned out to be extremely valuable in helping me really understand what I'm reading. It clarifies all those little things you forgot from first year that you need again for second year.
For the price, and the frustration it will save you when learning path, I would say this is a good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good introduction to pathology (for people who need to know about it but may not be medics)
I work as a translator and editor in this field, rather than as a medical professional as such, and this was book was the perfect introduction to a lot of the terminology that you need working in the pathology. Clearly, it is mainly aimed at medical students, but with a background knowledge, the memorization techniques make a great to acquire the basic terminology, and get an idea for the biological processes involved, as well as a good start on how the things you read about it in the book appear under the microscope (from the CD images)
