David: Developing a Heart for God (LifeGuide Bible Studies) Paperback – January 25, 2001
Purchase options and add-ons
Who are your role models? The world desperately needs role models today―people who are fully human yet who exceed human expectations and point others toward God. David is such a role model. His struggles with sin are infamous, and the Psalms reveal his anguish and doubts. Yet he is also described as "a man after God's own heart"―the champion of Israel. In this twelve-session LifeGuide® Bible Study, Jack Kuhatschek introduces you to David the servant and the leader, the sinner and the redeemed, the man and the instrument of God's creative purposes. As you explore David's tumultous story, you too will discover what it means to have a passionate heart for God.For over three decades LifeGuide Bible Studies have provided solid biblical content and raised thought-provoking questions―making for a one-of-a-kind Bible study experience for individuals and groups. This series has more than 130 titles on Old and New Testament books, character studies, and topical studies.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2015I bought this bible study book as a possible study for an adult small group I am a part of. We ended up deciding to use it. We are four studies into it now. We all seem to be quite pleased with how it has gone. I am happy with it. It has good questions that go through the same type of format with each study. Starts out asking directly what the scripture says, moves into a deeper what does it mean style of questions and like any good study, brings it home with some application. Basically follows the observation, interpretation, application style of bible study. Would reccomend to anyone looking to find a good study. This publishing company has a whole series out of this style of study and they all seem to be worthwhile.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2016This was the 3rd book that we completed from this series. WE loved it! It was challenging but also relatable. My hubby and I do them together every week night after we complete the questions individually. The only thing that we have found is that some questions don't really make much sense and some are very simple. However, all in all it is a great series! WE are currently finishing up our 4th book and we are getting ready to start another one!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2024It's a good study, but there are chapters that are skipped that are important to answer some of the questions. I'm not sure why the author did that. As a leader of the group, I have to read the extra chapters and summarize for everyone else on what is missing before starting a lesson. It also seems that this lesson is for people who know the whole story of David, assuming some things. It's been great for our men's study overall, but as a leader you have to put some extra effort in to make sure the group your leading gets the full picture.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2023I am s o disappointed in the book--too expensive and not worth the price for less than a 50 page book
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2018it is a good inductive study for beginners...it will be great for my Sunday school class.

Book in very good condition and delivered fast. Just what I wanted for a study of the shepherd boy who became King of Israel and great grandson of our Lord Jesus Christ.
