- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2024Great book for NCC review has MCQ questions and well explained answers and refernces to new studies in NCC.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2023As a practicing neurointensivist - this book is a great resource for the ACGME and UCNS boards. I used this book alone for studying for the boards and noticed that several of the questions were almost exactly along the same lines and type the boards used and asked. The images are similar to how they are portrayed on the test. Would highly suggest this book for all people studying for their UCNS certification/re-certification or newly certifying with the ACGME boards.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2021The content, i.e. the questions and associated explanations in the overwhelming majority are superb. This is an excellent board prep book.
However, there are two issues that detract from a 5 star rating:
1. the graphics, and in particular the images included in some of the questions are dismal. They are very small in size and particularly radiographs and MRI depictions are of very poor quality. Additionally, unlike other Kindle® books, they do not allow for enlargement by clicking or any other maneuver. This is 2021, come on, really?
2. there is no way to provide feedback to the authors of the book. As is usually the case, some of the answere are marked wrong, or have wrong explanations. Some questions are so poorly posed that they cannot be understood. I ought to be able to reach out to the authors and comment on this. That is called Q/I, and we in medicine are supposed to be doing it as part of daily routine, so...?
If this could be improved, it would be an excellent book, earning 5 stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2022There are some out-dated questions like hypothermia in TBI. Just make sure you keep up on the guidelines The book needs a Kindle update. Otherwise it does narrow in on high yield topics and also some esoteric things that NCS book didn’t really focus on.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2021This is a must have for any neuro intensivist. I’ve had many review books in my life, but felt the most prepared with this one. This book isn’t just beneficial for MDs but for anyone at the bedside. I have had the privilege to talk with the authors, and they are just as kind as they are wise. BUY THIS!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2019Good QnA. Evidence based answers. Divided into chapters and topics.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2024The quality of the questions vary from chapter to chapter depending on who authored it. Some chapters offer multiple-choice options A through D and other chapters A through E. The quality of the questions are spotty, and there are occasional incorrect answers or convoluted explanations that do not relate to the multiple choice answer marked.
This book needs better editing particularly if it’s structured as a question book.
