- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2016Jordan, though some may not agree, probably was somewhat ahead of his time with many of the things he attempted to do in Georgia in his day. I have been interested in knowing more about him and his background since reading his translations of some of the gospels which he translated from Greek into English. I consider him to be a genuine Greek scholar who understood what Jesus taught and who attempted to put these teachings into language that people of the South would understand. I think that this book provides a good summary of his life.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2019A book that takes you back to the Holy Spirit filled days of the 60's and 70's. ,Clarence was a man who knew the horrors of southern discrimination - but had the faith to carry him through.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2011I first read these sermons in 1975 after meeting Clarence's widow at Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. After I heard her speak I wanted to know more about Clarence and Koinonia. The humor, insight into southern culture and wisdom of these sermons continue to impact my faith after all of these years. I eventually made a pilgramage to Koinonia to see the place about which Clarence spoke. If you have an interest in how the truths of the Bible can be applied to modern life or to your life I can only encourage you to read these sermons. I have read them many times over the years and I always feel called to a more authentic faith and to the teachings of Jesus. Don B
