- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2016I'm VERY impressed with this as I actually bought this kit of myself. The little booklet that has little games to play, helped me teach myself how to read! I've had this kit for four days -YES DAYS- and I know how to read, write, and understand body parts, colors, numbers, and some common verbs! I have to admit, I was very motivated to learn Hangul and I have school, so I only really have a few hours to study my Korean but WOW! I didn't know an inch of Korean and soon I'm going to learn the structure of sentences! I'm amazed at how fascinating and easy the Korean language is. (My experience may be different from yours as I can fluently speak English, French, and Spanish, so I may have an advantage as far as experience, and similarities between the four languages; Hangul may just be easier compared to those three)
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2024It has been such a pleasure teaching my son how to speak the language of our motherland, and these well made and well thought out flash cards and learning materials make it even easier
- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2023I like it. It has somewhat of a learning module but what it lacks in the CD is a progressive lesson plan; (i.e guidance) I’ve had other language interactive lessons that actually guide you and there is a progression from letter pronunciation, to allowing you to speak the word in to your pc mic and it will rate the spoken word’s authenticity from native speaker to needs a lot of work. Not the case with this.
The cd is not a program in which you can download and go from lesson to lesson on through the program using the enclosed booklet. You kind of have to find your own why which is very difficult at times to know if youre even sounding the word or words correctly. The CD only has about 50 tracks of a person on there sounding out multiple words on each track and there after translating their meaning.
This is a good starter, however when youre by yourself without an instructor it leaves you too much room to speculate.
Contains CD with many tracks of audio of spoken words and their translation
Contains two decks of flash cards for review of words with pictures atop.
Contains a small pamphlet of info regarding how to greet and salutations, etc. Go-to phrases.
Im begrudgingly giving this 4 stars because I think it gives you some bar minimum of Tagalog but lacks in some ways that is frustrating and leads you to go on youtube to get more clarity from other competitors who teach Tagalog.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2021A Must order for beginners. The booklet it includes is like a pamphlet (30 pages), not a full book but is more helpful with the info it does have than most books for beginners. So glad I ordered this. I wasn't sure if I should because I have to be careful with how I spend my money but this is the right way. Plus you get the CD cards and wall chart. I thought I was buying it for the flashcardsand the wall chart and those are great also but the must have pamphlet was an unexpected must have.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2020Great for learning basic Tagalog words. Great for kids and adults too. The front of the flash cards show a picture of the Tagalog word you are learning. The back of the flash card has the English and Tagalog translation of the word. Along with the word written in a sentence and question with both the English and Tagalog translations. This is great because it helps you learn more Tagalog words along with learning a little bit of Tagalog reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2023I want to start at an easy level to learn a language.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2020It is very helpful to my daughter who wants to learn how to speak Tagalog. The only problem is, it's too expensive for just 2 sets of words. I don't think it's worth the price.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2019These are great flashcards and recommended for anyone trying to teach themselves Hangul. They arrived on time and they were in excellent condition.
