    As a senior citizen my voracious reading passion has spanned more than 7 decades. My reading interests have ranged from the scientific to the esoteric and from detective stories to westerns. Over the years I have had the pleasure of reading numerous great western writers. This is why when I saw this 317-page paperback book on Amazon (Burning Daylight: A Luke Jensen Bounty Hunter by William W. Johnstone and J. A, Johnstone) I decided to purchase it.

    I have read several western novels in the Luke Jensen series and found them to be entertaining reads. This Luke Jensen tale begins with Luke getting ready to have a drink at a saloon in Summerville in the Arizona territory, where he has been hunting three killer outlaws. As with many beginning books, this story starts with one of the four owl hoots Luke is looking for begins to shoot at Luke, but the bounty hunter winds up killing him, as well two other of the wanted men, while the fourth one got away. At this point one of the killers was taken alive; however, this is just the beginning of this interesting western story. The story gets more complex and interesting, but never give away too much information when reviewing any novel.

    If you are a Luke Jensen, bounty hunter, fan you will enjoy this action-packed western novel.

    This interesting adventure, has a lot of humanity going around and examples of how boys react when their father deserted the family without any means of support or stability. Very sad, but you'd be surprised at the stamina people exhibit when life hands them the sticky of the stick. Sometimes all you see is the dust in the wind as they hit the trail of no return..ouch
