- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2021The John W Schaumburg piano course is the best series out there. The only complaint I have is while working in the Pre-A and Book A, the student becomes reliant on the numbered fingering in the book and when they are changed in the book the student is lost. This causes me to have to spend extra time teaching note recognition.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2012I am 62 years old and have just gone back to the piano. As a teenager, I could play moderately well, but I basically just memorized every piece of music - I never really learned to sight read. Now I am teaching myself the basics and doing drills every day. This lesson book is a great help. I have a brand new grandson and I hope to be able to teach him how to make music.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2013I use John Schaum theory for all of my students. They need the work book to really understand the way that music is written. This is a good idea for anyone that is learning to play the piano. I highly recommend buying this very reasonably priced book.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2018I am learning. Actually need to go back to a more basic book, which I have ordered. Looking forward to reaching this level.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2014I'm a piano teacher. I always have my students work through this workbook. A must have for my students. Helps the student focus on what the lesson actually about, rather that just playing keys on a piano.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2016Very well laid out. I am a teacher and I love this book over all the others I have used. It is clear, complete, and colorful! I highly recommend this book/series.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2013I needed to start teaching some theory with my lessons. I haven't gotten all the way through this book yet but it seems to be what I needed to start theory.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2019I've used this series since child hood. Now i teach out of them.
