"Shel Pink's Slow Beauty takes us on a fantastic journey. I love the emphasis on self-care, rituals, and connecting back to our authentic and unique beauty through the ultimate beauty practice: meditation."―Kimberly Snyder, Nutritionist and New York Times bestselling author of Radical Beauty
"I love this book. I love the title of this book - it made me take a deep breath before turning the first page. Life has become a rush: a quest for short-cuts and quick fixes. How refreshing, and inspiring, to learn more about nourishing from the inside out. Not just in the sense of your skin, but also your mind, your organs, your body as a whole. We all know one or two women who seem to glow from the inside, and take life at their own pace. I've always wanted to be one of those women! Slow Beauty is a detailed, practical, enlightening guide to that place - no matter who you are."―Louise Roe, TV host, author of Front Roe
"Shel Pink is a true beauty pioneer: In a time of quick-fix solutions, she approaches beauty from the inside out in a manner that is not mere lip service. Her truly unique approach to beauty encompasses the mental and spiritual changes we can all make so that we feel better, which is ultimately reflected in the way we look. In Slow Beauty, Shel offers journaling exercises, recipes, and stories meant to enlighten, inspire, and promote personal growth. It is not vanity for vanity's sake, it's wellness for beauty's sake. Read it and reap."―-Didi Gluck, editor, Shape magazine
"With great wisdom, warmth and insight, Shel Pink shows us how to slow the pace and quicken our joie de vivre with this thoughtful road map to beauty and well-being."―-Rona Berg, LA Times bestselling author, Beauty: The New Basics, and editor-in-chief, Organic Spa Media
"An enchanting storyteller and a powerful proponent of the Slow Beauty movement, Shel Pink has created an engaging, inspiring, and thought-provoking guide designed to help us all slow down, relax, contemplate what is important, and integrate meaningful change into our lives. I've long been inspired by her vision and personal outlook, and it's wonderful to have discovered them both so beautifully communicated in this lovely new book. I encourage you to rush out to get it and then slow down to enjoy it to its fullest."―-Julie Keller Callaghan, editor-in-chief and Publisher, American Spa
"This is honestly the most beautiful book I have ever seen! Slow Beauty is the art of turning self care into a self love meditation. This book is filled with the most beautiful recipes to nourish your mind, body and soul and you will want to try every one. About the author

Shel Pink believes that to lead both a pleasurable and purposeful life, one must slow down enough to be observant, mindful and actionable. The culmination of this philosophy and Shel’s decades long holistic lifestyle, led her in 2004 to found SpaRitual – a pioneering, sustainable beauty brand based on the rituals of selfcare.
As a child, many years before holistic lifestyles became mainstream, an organic diet, the importance of regular massage, alternative healing methods and the minimization of toxin exposure within our environment, were instilled by Shel’s mother. It had always been a way of life, so embracing yoga, meditation and Ayurveda during her college years, was a natural extension of the principles which grounded and shaped Shel’s thinking.
SpaRitual’s guiding ethos is Slow Beauty - turn away from the frenzy of a fast-paced lifestyle to embrace meaningful care for ourselves and others, with the mantra – “Slow Beauty for a Fast World.” Shel’s insight and forward-thinking approach identified the greatest commodity for women in today’s world – time – and the company has built a legacy based on this concept. SpaRitual has incorporated Slow Beauty Rituals – as ways to reclaim and rejuvenate mind body and spirit - into women’s daily beauty practices (#ritualnotroutine).
While SpaRitual is committed to developing multi-purpose, eco-friendly products, using vegan, certified organic and fair trade ingredients from around the world, Shel wants to advance the “green movement” further, where clean formulas are a given, and women can focus on beauty as a holistic connection to oneself and the environment.
As an industry expert and innovator, Shel’s advice and insight are sought as a keynote speaker with past contributions to Go Green Expo, Pharmaca, HBA Panel on Future Trends in Beauty, Organic Spa Wellness Around the Globe Travel and Beauty Symposium and Serious Business, among others. Shel has also been featured as a green beauty authority in many media outlets, including The Los Angeles Times and The Huffington Post.
She launched the blog slowbeauty.com in 2012 as a digital platform to champion the slow beauty movement, and provide the tools and guidance to live a balanced and renewed existence. Shel currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband Ran and their two children, Alexander and Olivia and their Weimaraner, Baron.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2018One of the most insightful books on the topic that I've ever read.
The 4 pillars of beauty are easily broken down by author Shel Pink and with it new rituals and life-changing ways to connect more consistently with the universe emerge. This book is not solely a beauty book but more an interactive guide book with helpful tips and insights for both men and women.
I think this book actually makes the perfect gift because it gives the recipient a renewed vision of beauty. It empowers the reader and nourishes the body with recipes that will help the reader live a more healthy and beautiful existence.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2017The most amazing beauty book that isn't a beauty book. Technically its a book but really its a guide, its interactive and playful. This isn't a book telling you "how-to." The rituals and recipes are approachable and inclusive. You don't even have to start at the beginning, any chapter stands on its own. By the time I was done with Chapter 1 I felt like I was having a conversation with the author. A motivating book with inspiring thoughts and ideas about beauty. Women of every age should read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2017Wow, Slow Beauty breaks down the rituals we should all try to bring into our everyday lives. I loved learning about dry brushing, seasonal recipes, and the mapping section at the back to figure out my goals for the next season and the things I want to let go. I am excited to continue to use this as a guide to help me through 2018. I bought a few more for friends as a thoughtful holiday gift to utilize and stay mindful with everything going on in our world right now.

It’s a great book to own as well as give as gifts to anyone who is interested in wellness and a balanced life.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2019Love the book, upset with the seller selling me a "good" condition book that has pages torn out. Also, what kind of monster tares out pages from books and then resells them??
Fantastic book I recommend for people who are stuck in a daily rat race, who also keep thinking that the world will calm down just after this next week.. and it never does.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2024This one wasn’t for me. I like the concept, but an editor was needed to cut this into a reasonable length. I also found the routines offered to be so silly and privileged. Like who in the world can actually live like this? I’m stunned. So unrealistic.
