Latke, the Lucky Dog (Hanukkah)
'It’s a chew toy, for our own Latke. You can chew this all you want,' said Zoe.
For me? My very own chew toy? What a great family I have.
I am one lucky dog.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2017A lovely, lively children's book about adopting a dog during Hanukkah. Latke the dog has a lot to learn about being a family dog and his people are learning too! This is really a kind and fun holiday book. Also a good book to give any family with young children who are adopting a dog!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2015Very cute book about Hanukkah. I don't even remember ordering this, we don't have kids or know any kids. So I'm not sure how I ended up buying it, but it's a good book about a dog that is adopted for the holiday and accidentally messes up all their traditions, but the family loves him anyway and he's happy at the end. Just FYI it doesn't cover the reason or story around Hanukkah at all, fine with me but other families may want more history.
We decided to give it our local animal shelter for their holiday gift shop next year. (Very Jewish area.)
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2019Our class voted this book four stars because:
1. It was a good book.
2. It was sweet when they gave the dog a chew toy.
3. The book was funny when Latke ate the candle wax!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2020This book was purchased for my 3 and 1.5 year old daughters. There is several nice messages about understanding, kindness and patience in this book along with a bit of Hanukkah tradition throughout the story. I appreciate that this story is about a dog being rescued from a shelter. While the new family member runs into some problems they don’t give up. I definitely recommend this book for your little ones this Hanukkah!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2019I got this as a gift for young family. The illustrations are very nice. I didn't read the book, but could tell it's going to be very much enjoyed.
