Review
"With each passing year, it gets harder and harder to publish a book combining food, Christmas/holiday season and general entertaining topics without being repetitive and rather samey. Fortunately, the publishers of this book have got over that problem for the 2012 Holiday Season! In essence, author Frank De Caro of Dead Celebrity Cookbook fame digs into his archives to rustle up a Holiday Season menu full of Hollywood glamour, glitz and a dashing of kitsch for good measure from 'Golden Years' past."
--Darren Ingram, owner of YUM.FI
"Refining the approach he pioneered in 2011's The Dead Celebrity Cookbook, DeCaro returns with a holiday-themed collection of the good, bad, and ugly dishes purportedly served by a litany of Hollywood stars."
--Publishers Weekly, October 2012
"DeCaro not only takes the reader back to the past holidays of film, song and dance of those celebrities who have gone before us, but finds a creative way to keep their memories alive, even at our dinner tables."
--Connie Withay
"A great holiday gift to any one who enjoys cooking or collecting recipe books. A must!"
--April R, MyBookAddiction.com
"Not only will people be raving about how good each dish is as they reach for seconds, but you will have a great conversation piece when you tell the about the cookbook you got the recipe from."

- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2014Being a huge fan of Frank DeCaro, I purchased this after reading and enjoying the first Dead Celebrity Cookbook. I didn't think it was possible for him to come up with something better, but he has done it! This book is entertaining and fun and has some really great recipes in it! I plan on working my way through the recipes in 2014 and I hope that you do too! Great job Frank!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2012Frank DeCaro dishes more than just desserts in his second rendition of The Dead Celebrity Cookbook. He's hilarious and full of pop culture and Hollywood ennui. Grab this and the original Dead Celebrity Cookbook if you don't already own it. They make for a fun read and are full of recipes of the rich and famous.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2023A nice festive cookbook and all, but one thing I dislike about it is the fact that it calls the movie adaptation of Mommie Dearest "campy." Except it's not. It's only campy when watched out of context (i.e.: thinking it's a black comedy) when it's supposed to be good (not so bad it's good) and will make you either hate Joan Crawford for being a horrible person or feel sorry for her being mentally ill. Faye Dunaway's Joan Crawford chews scenery, but so did Crawford herself in real life, according to the book the movie is based on. This reason is why I give this cookbook a 4-star rating.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2018This unique kindlebook that is The Dead Celebrity Cookbook Presents Christmas in Tinseltown; Celebrity Recipes and Hollywood Memories From Six Feet Under the Mistletoe by Frank DeCaro includes much details/information such as; why the film It’s A Wonderful Life was an important part of the author’s Christmas memories, a recipe from Beulah Bondi, James Stewarts Spareribs with Barbecue sauce, a pasta recipe from an actor named Lionel Barrymore, and much more.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2016Bought this as the perfect gift for a friend who loves to cook and adores Bea Arthur and other classic dead celebs. Couldn't have been happier with this book. Exactly as promised, it's chock full of dead celebrities' holiday recipes. Perfect!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2012With a return for the holidays this book is a must for the old movie lover, cook, and general crazy person to enjoy. Filled with snipits of glam from a bygone era of true stars it is nice to have a way to connect with them through their recipes and a good movie.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2012I'm a huge fan of the first Dead Celeb Cookbook-it's campy and fun and I'd even consider (CONSIDER, mind you) cooking some of the recipes. I love Frank DeCaro and his humor and I appreciate that he has a whole collection of recipes that celebs provided for magazines, fan sites, cookbooks, PR, and such from back in the day. That said, this one isn't as campy or fun as the first one. I had great hopes-it's Christmas! Pefect excuse for excess!Joan Crawford on the cover! But he limits himself and the culinary experience by dedicating the book to the stars of holiday films and tv specials (Burl Ives, Bing Crosby and even, Bea Arthur). Plus the recipes are nothing to write home about-lots of ham and ham salad, egg nog, avocado in aspic. (This is not a cookbook for cooking, it's a cookbook for reading) And no chapter with Hanukkah recipes-which surprised me. The stories are good but again, second rate. I had high expectations for this and I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could-but both the stars, the stories and the recipes seemed dull compared to the first one. If you don't yet have the first one, buy it instead and browse this after the holidays.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent gift for the Chef who has every cookbook!
Besides the classic and fun cookbook, there is all the trivia and historic tidbits to entertain you while your oven preheats. If you don't have this book in your massive cookbook collection, you owe it to yourself (and one for a friend).
