- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2014Talk about politically correct verses natural evolution, well, maybe not that bad but the book is fun and informative to all us married people that are fully dedicated to keep our marriages focused and evolving into the perfect relationship between the spouses.
Yes, this is a wonderful read with lots of good ideas that will help relax the tensions and open a few doors into new areas "where love and marriage go together like a . . . ".
Okay, so I give it a read and learn about "romancing the stone" (whichever of you is the stone), loosening up the starched collar and really living the love life you have always talked (well, maybe not) about having. I remember a story that was told about a wife who went to their, the Farrel's, seminar and bought this book to try. One of the authors after talking a while with her, told her to read the first couple of chapters and she would get some ideas on how to work of her deteriorating marriage. She was on her way back East for a work week there and read the first part of the book on the plane. When she got there, she said I have nothing to loose, so she called her husband and made a date to read to him one chapter a night while she was away. When she got home she couldn't believe what she saw ... the yard had flowers planted in it, the bedroom had been painted and pictures hung. When she asked her husband what happened he replied, "I was just getting our castle ready for my queen!"
Shut up! No, it is really a true story. Read the book and find out why and how it all works. Are you ready for a change?

- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2017Great book written from a Christian perspective. I used it as a study tool when I was asked to minister at a marriage retreat, the topic was “Sex, the Gift of God in a Marriage Covenant “
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2012Great book! lots of great advice for dealing with root issues and tons of fun, romantic ideas for spicing up your marriage. The Ferrils do a good job remembering that lots of us have kids, demanding jobs, and tight budgets, and have thoughts on how to work with and around these complications.
I read the book while my husband was deployed with the military and highlighted things that I would like to try or that I thought he should know about me. Then I sent it to him with a different color of highlighter and asked him if he might do the same. I think he had it finished in two days :) Now we are looking forward to his return so that we can try out everything that we have learned!
If you are having more serious issues, a couple of other books we would reccommend are: Intended for Pleasure, by Ed and Gay Wheat, and Sheet Music, by Kevin Leman. If you aren't married yet and want to get your sex life off to a good start, my husband and I reccommend the Getting Ready for Marriage workbook by Jerry D. Hardin and Dianne C. Sloan. It will help eleminate destructive expectations about marriage and your future spouse that will hinder sexual intimacy.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2012After 16 years of marriage you may need a reboot. For my wife and I this was a great book to read together. It gives some good ideas on how each partner can do their part to keep it hot. It does take too for it to work, that's why I say read it together and discus has you go thru the book. If you can go away for a day or two you can read and talk. If not, read a chapter each night take turns reading to each other and enjoy!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2007Read together as a couple, especially if you're not sure how to communicate with each other in this very sensitive, intimate area of your marriage. This book is a great way to get those lines of communication open and help you to make your love life better than it already is. Sex within the context of marriage, the way God planned it, is truly the best and most wonderful gift. This book encourages making time for sex, planning it, even scheduling it. There's nothing wrong with that. It's a great book, very open, and encouraging!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2009I LOVE this book, and my husband does too! I have recommended this book to all of my friends and even bought one for a door prize at our annual Valentine's Fondue Night party. It has motivated me to put my intimate life into the forefront of my marriage. This amazing book gives pratical tips, both elaborate and simple, to spice up your romance life. Whether you have no drive, pain or a great intimate life, this book is for you!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2014i'm not overwhelmed by this book, the other reviews seem inflated. the language is a bit corny. now, i know that this couple is Christian and they probably did not want to use offensive or vulgar language but i didn't want to read unrealistic dialogue either. obviously i bought this book because i wanted to read something spicy- according to the title, i didn't want "fifty shades of grey" vulgarity but i wanted something more real. i admire that they want to help others and that most of the tips are helpful. but other tips are too cliche, random and pointless. parts of the book are funny and i enjoyed that. the truth is that all marriages benefit from some advice and this book gives that. but i guess it wasn't necessarily my cup of tea. i'll lend it out to other ladies i know that could really use help in their marriage, it may come in handy after all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative in a good way
I wish I had this information 55 years ago. Information was not given of offered when it would have helped me understand how to reach and please my wife. We are still together but this info would have made things much better.

2.0 out of 5 stars fizzled out monogamy
I kept thinking this book was going to give up its secrets at each new chapter and I was very disappointed. First of all its very religious and the advice is coached in Christian life, values and ministry with a lot of advice to pray. I wasted my money buying this book!
It was boring and I bought Pat Love's Hot monogamy afterwards and read that and found it was 100% better.
