Review
"The book's narrative style incorporates clinical and empirical evidence to underpin arguments for and against dry needling. It takes the reader on a clear journey from the effects of using needles on connective tissue and fascia to the evidence and application of trigger point dry needling...This is an excellent book for any physiotherapist who wants a clinically relevant overview of dry needling."

- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2014Well written book, good chapters and evidence-based whenever possible. However, the downside of this book is the pictures. They're all black and white, making it difficult to visualize some of the techniques. I'd recommend the published to reconsider this aspect in future editions. I'd pay a few euros more just to have more clarity...
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2013This book is profoundly informative and useful for anyone using dry needling or planning to do so. The explanations are clear and well-referenced. The authors are leaders in the field. Included is a chapter carefully giving safety guidelines, as well as chapters on related superficial dry needling, acupuncture aspects, intramuscular stimulation and subcutaneous needling. I believe that this book is destined to be the classic dry needling instruction text as well as the "go-to" reference text, and I recommend it highly.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2014This is a better reference in some ways than I thought it was going to be. I needed basic evidence, quick references for technique and positioning (since I don't needle too often) and some basic rationale. I would like to have seen more "trigger point maps" although I might not have found them quite yet in my Kindle Version.
In some cases the evidence cited is "no clear evidence" which is just fine. There are good sections regarding rationale and overall evidence and techniques other than TDN are also addressed.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2015Very good book. As a patient with chronic myofacial pain syndrom this was very well written and easy to understand. It's helped me better understand were my pain is coming from.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2013If you are working with Myofascial Trigger Points (in either human or veterinary patients) run to get this text. Everything that you need to review for your practice of Dry-Needling to alleviate pain from MTrPs is contained in this text. Dr. Dommerholt's expertise is enlightening and "eye-opening". Do not miss this opportunity to explore this area of Pain Management in depth.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2015If you are interested in dry needling, there aren't many books available on the topic. With that in mind, this this book is certainly a good one to have, but it is disappointing overall. As mentioned in other reviews, the images are poor quality. In addition, there is very little actual guidance on *how* to needle particular trigger points in each particular area. As I'm sure anyone reading this review knows well, each spacific muscle group requires a specific technique and angle to get a good response. Unfortunately, this book does not provide much guidance in this regard.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2013Up to date practical overview of Dry Needling. Great to have needling procedures for different anatomical areas. Contributions
from most of the leaders in the Myofascial and Dry Needling field.
A great resource book. .

5.0 out of 5 stars Consigliato a tutti i praticanti di Dri Needling
Consigliatissimo

3.0 out of 5 stars Bien mais peut mieux faire
S'il y' avait eu un peu plus de schéma d'anatomie, et des dessins sur le sujet traité(notamment les trajets nerveux et vasculaires à éviter) je lui aurai mis 5 étoiles.
