This is one of those textbooks cardiac sonographers stash in their locker and consider it their bible.

If you are new to the adult echo modality or studying for your boards, this book is an invaluable resource.

Be careful with this book, physically. I have managed to destroy my first copy because it got stuck to surfaces with just about a drop of water on them and it eventually rips the cover to shreds. I just purchased a replacement and I immediately noted the same cheap cover as my former copy. I know it doesn't look amazing but I put packing tape over the front and back cover so it didn't shred again. I don't know why the publisher chose this material but it's soaks up water like crazy and sticks to any surface you set the book on like glue! Please fix this issue! Books like this should survive for years, especially considering the price.

Wonderful, I use it everyday. In a busy lab it is unbeatable, of course, this is not a full textbook, for this go to Feingebaum or Otto’s. I wonder when we will have an electronic edition.

It is a fairly good reference book however the author, who is not a physician, should stay away from discussions/indications and what not regarding treatment(s) for various conditions. Some of the comments are sort of old school and not up to date w today's standards. Also, I see no reason to discuss the physical exam findings as this is not being advertised as a phys exam book. I am referring to the aortic regurgitation chapter as an example. Maybe the echo techs will appreciate this discussion, however. It should be valued and appreciated as an echocardiography quick reference book and not as a cardiology textbook per se. Having said this, I have enjoyed this book and I recommend it. It is full of information. I believe it will help on my studying for the echo board recertification exam.
