Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Gr. 1^-2. A perfect topic for an easy reader--a child's first loose tooth. A young girl with a wobbly, wiggly, jiggly tooth worries about where it might fall out, but once she has that big-kid hole in her mouth, she's as proud as can be. A pithy text and nice big illustrations outlined in black make this very accessible to the intended audience. Ilene Cooper

This little book explains to children how a loose tooth comes out in a way they can understand. The book also uses words that a 4 or 5 year old can learn to read for themselves. If you get this book, and read it to your child or grandchild, it takes the fear out of having a loose tooth, and can also make it fun. I bought it for my 2 granddaughters, age 5, both had their first loose tooth. After, reading this little book, they both looked forward to the process of losing their baby teeth. Both girls are learning to read and can read almost all of this book themselves. Their parents were very happy that the girls were very excited with this little book and how much it helped them all. Best book I ever bought them!!

Each of my grandchildren gets a book when he/she loses that first tooth. There is nothing like celebrating an event such as this with a new book. Amazon.com, you make it easy for me to order and buy special event books such as My Tooth Is About to Fall Out, and I thank you very much. My granddaughter, Riely, loves this book. It has an amusing plot and, with illustrations on each page, it is manageable for a first grader to read.

Cute book. Great price. I bought it for my six-year-old son to practice reading because it's short and has appropriate vocabulary for a early beginner reader. It's also also a great price especially for a six-year-old to toss around and practice with. As most six-year-olds are, he doesn't take care of his things very well and it's okay if he bends and throws it around a bit for that price! :-)

The child I gave the book was very pleased . She is just starting to read and she read the whole book to me. It also encourages reading especially if the child is losing or lost a first tooth!
