- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2016I would recommend this book for anyone looking to learn about how to define, measure and improve performance in healthcare. This book gives great advice about how to proactively reduce harm to the patient (FMEA) and how to break down process failures (RCA). Also this book provides a great explanation as to why leadership and management need to learn about quality and implement good quality control and reporting in their healthcare setting. Overall great read!!

- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2009In this book, the author has done a wonderful job in linking Finance and Quality. The book is divided in two parts. Part One deals with "Basic Principles of Quality Management" in which the author writes about:(1)"Drivers of Change",(2)"Improving Patient Safety",(3)"Focus on The Patient", and (4)"Understanding Process, Outcomes, And Costs". Part Two is "Getting Down to the Business" where the author addresses the issues of: (5)"The Value of Prevention", (6)"The Cost of Sentinel Events",(7)"Managing Expenses in a High-Risk Environment", (8)Improving Communication and Establishing Trust", and (9)"Promoting a Safe Environment of Care".
Further, along with author's "Conclusion", there is a list of "References", as well as a list of "Useful Web Sites". At the end, there is an excellent "Index".
In 212 pages, the author has has attained his goal in a most admirable way; it shows the author's scholarship, and the depth of his knowledge about Finance and Quality as applied to "Value Based Health Care". I feel that his peers will applaud his work. I believe that any one concerned with "Health Care" would welcome this book in her/his personal library.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2012This book is required for an upcoming public health policy class and it arrived pretty quickly. The book was in very good shape, it arrived within about 3 days after I placed the order. Very fast turnaround and look forward to possibly buying some more books in the future.
