    This manual is helpful but it's also riddled with errors. Many times through this course I've used this manual to help me grasp the formulas being used. The book will have the correct formula, but the answer at the end is just wrong. It's like who ever was responsible for putting it together typed it into their calculator incorrectly. It's good as a guide, but be careful. If your answer doesn't match the manual don't just assume you're the one that's wrong.

    For instance, Chapter 2, question 57 (2.57)
    How many carbon atoms are there in a diamond (pure carbon) with a mass of 52mg?
    My answer: 2.6x10e21 atoms C
    Back of textbook answer: 2.6x10e21 atoms C
    Solution manual answer: 7.2x10e21 atoms C

At the end of each problem the manual goes through a "check" to show how you can check your answer to verify it's validity, which is also a helpful skill to pick up for test-days.

    Not 5 stars because some of the problems were too concisely written out and is hard to follow at times. But once you work through few problems, you being to understand the format of the solutions. Just takes some time and practice. It's also a VERY thick book, so if you can find an electronic version it may be less strain on your back if you like to carry your books with you. However, if you prefer the physical textbook (as I do!) then it may be worth the extra bag space that it takes up whenever you bring it with you.

    Otherwise, I would highly recommend this solution manual for those who learn better from repetition and working through problems. This book provides you with the correct answers for all the "end of the chapter" problems and provides short explanations for each one.
