I find reviewing books to be a dangerous game since it mainly depends on the likes and dislikes of individuals. However I have been using these DK guides for many years and have about 30 different ones on my shelves. There is good coverage of the history of the area,, good information, often with a photograph, of individual places along with access information. There are well laid out maps enabling one to find one’s way with cross references to the places described in the text. While I use the internet to find hotels and restaurants since guide books get quickly out of date in this regard, it does have useful general information for the tourist’s needs visiting the area. I have never had a bad DK guide.
