- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2019I'm about halfway through and I very much like this book. I write this as an IT professional, but with zero web experience--I'm totally backend Big Data. I will admit that the first three chapters can seem long and tedious; they involve long explanations and exercises that are either facile or, conversely, loaded with nuance that goes unexplained--for the time being only, though. It's difficult to go through so much information without having any real context. But it starts to gel with Chapter 4! If you've wanted to learn web design and you're using Dreamweaver, you'll find yourself unable to step away from the computer. Very good guidance and utterly confidence-building!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2018I learned an earlier version of Dreamweaver years ago, and couldn't figure out how to start with this new way of doing layouts (that is, "new" since 2002). This book is excellent, starting with the first things you need to know in the order you need to know them,.. A hint for downloading the files at Peachpit - they ask you to find the first word of the first first step in part of the book as proof of purchase.. I wasted a lot of time looking for "Step 1". The step is defined by red print, not a label.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2018This book does a good job of showing you how Dreamweaver works. It takes a step-by-step approach in every chapter you will learn some stuff. Unfortunately, I found that some stuff in DM is already different than what the book says. This is frustrating because it seems like your always trying to play catch-up with the technology. The book is easy to read, not a lot of jargon that is hard to understand if you're a noob. It also does a good job of teaching you a lot about how HTML and CSS work together in a way that anyone can understand. You should get this book new to ensure you get the corresponding files to use in DM
- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2018Have used Dreamweaver for many years. Updated to CC to try it out. Cancelled my Adobe subscription and staying with Dreamweaver 8. If new to web site construction, go with Wordpress and save tons of money. Have returned book and paid the $30 restocking fee.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2018This book is easy to understand and each step is explained thoroughly.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2019Good shape
- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2018Easy to follow. Lots of good information.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2019If you have lots of time, perhaps this book is for you. I got through the first few chapters and gave up as it was not helping me develop a web page. It just talked about options, not the process of developing a web page in Dreamweaver. I have gone back to it to search for options during my web page development. But, usually did not find the information that I needed in developing my web page. I found the information over internet searches was much more informative and helpful.
