This isn't a perfect example of what you should expect going forward the DSM criteria are 4 and 5 came out last year, the good news is it takes about 3 years for the standardized tests to catch up, on my shelf there was a question stating DSM 4 criteria and asking about management. I went through the book three times quickly and it proved very helpful on all the disorders and the heavily tested stuff. If you are looking for every question they will throw at you on a shelf this isn't a perfect resource.

Bottom line: Don't spend your money on this

I'd say about 60% of the questions were helpful in preparing for my psych shelf exam, while the other 40% were just bad questions (either too nitpicky, or testing on material not applicable to the 3rd year psych shelf). I got a 95 raw score on the shelf, but felt that Case Files, and to a lesser extent UWorld, were the resources that made the difference.

If you get this book as a hand-me-down, use it, otherwise, spend your limited study time on something else.
