- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2013This is THE book I have been waiting to find. It explains a whole lot of what's been going on inside of me and it is a gem. There is much underneath the cover of this book, there are volumes! This book provides guidance to learning to understnad your inner workings and why you feel confused and lonely as you do. For me, it is a feeling of intense anxiety. Anxiety and anger, and sleepiness, are 3 intense traits that the Inner Child, which has been asleep or locked away, feels and undergoes when it has been abandoned and judged by the inner critical parent. Exercises are presented for the goal to achieve a balanced unified peaceful inner system within. Adult Children of Alcoholics will benefit because they tend to lack a loving inner parent and they therefore need to 'reparent' their inner child. Ideas such as promoting trust within yourself is introduced, and the benefits are outlined - phenomenal benefits to one's health if one follows this system of work.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2022I’m very picky with the books that I read, if it’s not teaching me anything I move on. This is probably my top five mental health books. I sent a good 30 back. If you have an anXious attachment style I like myself, this book will be good for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2021This book was engaging and the concepts were outlined in a way that lay persons could easily understand. This book opened up the concept of the inner child in a very accessible way for me. This book alone isn't enough to help you to fully access the inner child but it is enough to get you started and to get you relief if you are in pain. I found myself wishing that there was a workbook while I was reading the chapters. Turns out there is one. I would have given the book 5 stars if the material in the workbook was included. I feel that this would make the book live up to its title. This is a solid book. I recommend to others and will be re-reading throughout the years.
I bought the Kindle version. It has quite a bit of spelling errors but they do not take away from the quality of the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2022Wonderful! After becoming a licensed therapist and having years of therapy myself, I found this book (as well as Inner Bonding) to be the missing pieces of the puzzle for me. I HIGHLY, highly recommend both of them. They've each been life-changing, teaching me to love and care for myself in the deepest most painful places from my history and move on to joy.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2021This is one of the few books were the term of codependency is greatly explained. The terminology used is direct and easy to relate if you have been on the path of self growth. It is also quite insightful on how to catch yourself on yoir false beliefs by observing at a deeper level your core wounds. I'm so blessed to have found this book.=)
- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2015This book saved my life. It allowed me to reconnect with myself on a deeper level and truly listen to the small voice within. There is much that we can attend to and heal if we would only take the time to learn and listen. If we simply take the time to understand why we feel and do the things we do. If we only knew the power that understanding holds. By loving ourselves and who we are, we allow ourselves to heal and move forward. Let go of the burdens of pain we carry because we misunderstand our own struggles. I hope that you will read and find hope and practical advice to heal your self and your life. You deserve it.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2015This book is amazing! It is a true gift. I was so ready to read this book and have benefited from it by understanding myself. But the greatest benefit this book has given me was help me become reconnected to myself and not dependent on outside sources for love. I haven't finished reading the book yet but have gained so much from it. This book so so insightful and powerful! You will definitely benefit from it by better understanding yourself and feeling peace and joy!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2022This book was so easy to read, and flowed so well it resonated with me in so many areas. I hope this book works for you as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A powerfull guide to healing and self-love
I was recommended Healing Your Aloneness: Finding Love and Wholeness Through Your Inner Child by my therapist, and I’m so glad I gave it a read. It’s been an eye-opening experience that really made me reflect on my past and my relationship with myself. The book focuses on healing through reconnecting with your inner child, something I hadn’t really considered before.
It focuses on self-love and understanding, things that sometimes we forget to do. Healing old wounds can help you find a deeper sense of wholeness and improve your relationships with others. The exercises are simple yet effective, and they gave me practical ways to start working on my emotional well-being.
I’ve definitely found more peace with myself since reading it, and I feel like I have a better understanding of how to nurture my emotional health moving forward. If you're looking to heal and find a deeper connection to love and acceptance, this book is definitely worth picking up. It’s not just a read, it’s a guide to embracing who you are and learning to love yourself.

4.0 out of 5 stars good read
Good read to get a hang of th concepts about integration with many real world examples. I seem to miss the concrete steps or exercises to bring about this integration. Something you can straightaway start off with. Overall a great read to start the journey towards integration.

5.0 out of 5 stars self-knowledge
The book is an awesome fount of methods and train of thought for you to better comprehend what's going on inside (your mind, your emotions, heart and soul). I have been thru highly critic situations on metter of relationships and a necessity to overcome burdens of loneliness in my life as a whole ... I thought I couldn't resolve this issue simply by reading a book, but this one is actually giving me a consistent hope by methods of discipline and self/inner-love as strenghts to transcend and conquer better quality of social life. In other words, this book gives a promising horizon of transformation to your life both inward and outwards.

5.0 out of 5 stars incredibly healing- a real eye opener
Everyone on this big planet of ours should take the time to read this book. This had a profound effect on me from the first page. I've purchased the workbook and will continue to reread it as time and my own personal growth progresses. It is very well written. The examples are clear and visceral. The language and dialogue are believable. I was captivated by the authenticity of the case study examples. I'll be sure to write a review of the workbook once it arrives.
