- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2022I couldn’t have chose a better book for my daughter to prepare her for her first day of preschool! This book is a little wordy but my daughter needs and loves details. This book described my daughters preschool day perfectly. She walked in on her first day with so much joy and confidence! Highly recommend!!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2013The book is exactly what I was looking for. I explains everything about preschool and has great imagery to go with it.
It covers:
- What's preschool?
- What will my classroom look like?
- What's a teacher?
- Will my mommy or daddy stay with me at preschool?
- What will I do at preschool?
- What happens at circle time?
- WHy are there special rules at preschool?
- Who will I play with?
- What if I get hungry or have to go to the potty? What if I need a hug?
- When will I go home?
- A word to parents
My daughter is about to turn 3 and she absolutely loves it and doesn't get bored. If the descriptions are too long for your preschooler just explain everything in your own words.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2019I agree with the others when they say that this book is very wordy, but this works great for us because my son loves to be read to and for whatever reason this book really engages him. My son has ASD and new things are scary for him and reading social stories can be so beneficial for him vs. talking to him about it. We read this book for about a month before he started preschool. It gave him all the information he needed to know about preschool and what it would be like and what to expect, so I really believe this helped him with the transition. I wish they had more books like this.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2017My son who was about to go to prescool for the first time enjoyed this book, however, it's a bit too wordy. The pages each have a lot of words but it is all useful information. Let's just say my son liked it a couple times but didn't want to read it after that!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2015This book was such a help in explaining preschool to my son. He likes to have all the facts before he does something and this was the perfect book for that. I was able to explain things to him comparing them to what we had read in the book. I would highly recommend this book to those going into preschool.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2021Yes, there’s lots of words on the page (more than other kids books) but it’s all super helpful and if you are engaged with your kid not just reading like a robot, they will be fully interested. Helped my kid understand what to expect when she starts school. Helps me remember what I need to tell her bc it really is a lot and this book covers all the bases. Pretty awesome.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2014Cute book, definitely describes what preschool will be like but a little boring and too wordy for my 3 1/2 year old...she got bored with it and stopped listening...maybe need some brighter pictures or something to hold their attention while your reading the very long pages to the child.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2022What I like about this book,is it has pictures to show kids what preschool looks like, so that they have an idea of what preschool is. Recommend it to parents of toddlers who will be going to preschool

3.0 out of 5 stars OK Book
This book isn't so much a story, as it is a description of all the things that will happen in preschool. It wasn't very entertaining to my daughter.
