The K&H Extreme Weather Heated Kitty Pad is an essential source of warmth for your kitties or feral cats that spend time outdoors during the chilly fall or spring months, and frigid cold winter months. The K&H Extreme Weather Heated Kitty Pad is made of durable ABS plastic, perfect for years of outdoor wear and tear. The internal pre-set thermostat keeps the surface nice and warm when in use; even in the coldest of temperatures. Place it in a shed, garage, barn, kitty house or anywhere dry and protected that your outdoor kitties like to spend time. This pad features a 5½ feet steel wrapped cord to deter chewing. Using only 40 watts, the K&H Extreme Weather Heated Kitty Pad is very economical. All K&H heated outdoor pads are MET listed for safety, meaning you can feel secure in leaving them plugged in 24/7. Includes a free fleece cover to add a soft coziness to the pad, or add an optional K&H Deluxe Fleece Cover (sold separately).
Original & Petite Differences
The Extreme Weather Kitty Pad is available in two sizes, the original 12.5" x 18.5" and the petite 9" x 12". The original includes a 5.5 feet steel wrapped cord, the petite includes a 5.5 feet cord with the first 18" encased in steel. They both warm to the same optimal temperature of about 102 degree Fahrenheit (38.9 degree Celsius).The petite version uses 25W of power and the original is 40W.
Testing your K&H Extreme Weather Kitty Pad
You'll notice that the K&H Outdoor Heated Kitty Pad may not feel warm to the touch when your pet is not on the pad. That's normal! You can test the pad by placing a large pillow on top of the pad. After about 20 minutes, feel under the pillow. It will feel warm, not hot. Do not place anything on the pad (other than the fleece cover provided) any other time. This should only be done during testing

Not same as before
I have bought three of these over the last few years. I use one outside in a stray cat bed. The previous items are soft and the cover of the “heating pad” can be taken off and washed.This is a nice piece of fuzzy cover with elastic straps that go under the hard cover at the corners (like a fitted sheet) that attach it do a hard flat surface.***update***Pictures 3&4 are of the older product that is soft.Picture 5&6 are showing the cover for this product that I found on Amazon. It’s an extremely snug fit. Be patient and make sure the zipper opening will be on the same end as the electric cord and you will be pleased with your work once the task is done. Worth the extra $$.The last two pictures show this product after the purchased separately cover are on. The cats liked it either way but without the extra cover the cover that comes with it that has the elastic corners will not be in place long.****. Take away Message*****. This will be going in my little Dog House for stray cats next winter! I think is extremely durable product.

I cannot say enough great things about this heated pad. I have used this for 2 years now for a feral cat I care for. He loves it. It fits perfectly inside his house that I also purchased from Amazon. It gets pretty cold outside and he stays nice and cozy. I honestly don’t know what I would do without this for him. The picture shown is with a fleece cover I made. However, it does come with a nice quality fleece cover. I just like to have a few extra covers on hand. The cord is wrapped with a protective coil. I purchased two of these just in case one stops working because my feral would probably freeze without it.
