For diabetic dog
I found Dr. Harvey's while researching low carb diets for my dog who was recently diagnosed with diabetes. He had been on Hill's Prescription c/d diet for bladder stone prevention but I knew that high carb low protein is a death sentence for diabetes. My dog is picky and was very excited just from the smell of opening the trial bag (you can get it free on their website). He has not hesitated to dig in every meal. I'm adding ground chicken and using organic low sodium chicken broth to hydrate the food for extra flavor. While the company advertises to change up the protein for nutrients, our vet advised to stay with the same protein for diabetic dogs, less variation is safer. His stool has been solid during the food transition, which I did over just a few days because I was eager to stop spiking his blood sugar with the high carb prescription food, this is incredible as he always has diarrhea when changing foods. We are keeping a very close eye on his glucose during the change because less carbs will hopefully mean less insulin. I read a review regarding somogyi and that person seems misinformed, that happens when a dog receives too much insulin, they likely weren't monitoring their pet's glucose and it's insulin requirement diminished (which is a good thing) due to the lower carb content of this food. Another review said that the quality had gone down and there were less vegetable chunks, I've added a picture and if anything we had more chunks in the 3 lb bag than in the trial bag. This food was approved by our vet and I'm hopeful it will prevent cataracts and complications from the diabetes for as long as possible. Thank you to Dr. Harvey's for making it easy to take care of my dog.

After our 8 yr old little guys anal gland cancer diagnosis (AGASACA) June of '22, first we prayed then we started researching all of our options to give him the best outcome. He had a successful surgery to remove the tumor in June and we discovered Paradigm food in August/September. He went for his 3 month Follow up and is in doggy remission! (*please check your pet for lumps or bumps near their anal glands! A hard lump found early can save them! It is easy to feel if they have one and if you're not sure, ask your vet to check during their annual exam....most vets don't normally but if you ask they will and it's free!)

We give all the glory to God from the way we found his mass (accidentally), to his good health and happiness all throughout vet visits and surgery, I truly believe God does what we can't and guides us to do the things we can. One of the things I researched was diet for our boy. Cancer feeds on carbs and sugars! This food has so few carbs and that aids in starving the cancer cells. So many homemade recipes just don't have the nutrients dogs need (all sorts of vitamins, calcium, protein, etc)...while it's possible to buy these and add them into their food, it then becomes a balancing act of not over adding supplements or not giving enough, and it changes with each recipe! This food is not cheap, but the supplement balancing act has been done for you, ingredients are healthy, and the prep time is a breeze. I make a couple servings at a time and serve one fresh at night and refrigerate the other for the next days breakfast. I went on vacation for a week and meal prepped for his sitter....froze them and all she had to do was defrost or warm up and add oil! Easy! It's also easy to bring the bag along should we take him on vacation with us ...

He is 25 lbs and a bag lasts about a month. I use fish oil from Amazon, it takes one pump per serving. For protein, I use all different kinds and treat him to good cuts of beef, liver, fish, ground turkey, chicken, eggs(2 eggs per serving for his weight), lean stew meat, ...a couple of money saving protein options I've found are chicken livers, chicken gizzards (these are tough so boil them then put them in a food processor or chop finely), ground chicken (less expensive than ground turkey), eggs, calf liver....just google the amount your dog can have of certain meats (for example too much liver is not good, you have to spread it out!). Check your grocery store, there are lots to choose from! *If you email the company, they will send you a free sample that lasts for a few meals - I did that and had it within a few days! He loved it so I ordered a bag on prime.

I truly feel our buddy will have a long time with us and changing to this healthier diet will only add to his health and keep him in remission. Overall, factoring in the price and headache of supplements that would need to go into making homemade from scratch, this food is fairly priced in comparison. When you love them like we do, you make it work and cooking for him hasn't been an inconvenience at all, I actually think it's fun! He used to pass on breakfast when he was on kibble...now he gets up in the morning ready to eat!!

I am so happy I found this food because I know nothing about formulating a meal plan for my dogs and this was a nice all-in-one, ready-to-go meal. I would be scared to make my own for fear of not getting the right amount of nutrients. I found a dog right before Christmas 2022, took him to my vet for swollen lymph nodes, and he was quickly diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma. Not sure how long he had it before I found him, but I had him for 86 days before I had to put him down. Along with medication, we combatted his cancer with a change in diet, so I researched a lot of brands. This particular type of food - low carb, no sugar, grain free - was just what I was looking for. Of course I can't prove that it helped at all, one would need another test subject with a similar medical profile who didn't eat this food to compare it to. All the canine cancer research that I read pointed to foods and supplements that wouldn't eradicate the cancer, but it was helpful in that it gave the cancer the least amount of energy to grow. Carbs, sugar, some grains were in the group of foods that cancer feeds on according to some studies so I tried to not purposefully feed him any. Again I knew I couldn't change the outcome, Lymphoma is always fatal, the best you can hope for is a delay. But I believe that using this food, along with other supplements, medications, and high quality proteins, allowed him to live comfortably for nearly 86 days with a very aggressive cancer. Cutting down on the inflammation through his diet along with his cancer meds gave him time to enjoy his last 3 months. His last week he had to come off the steroid that was keeping the swelling and tumors at bay because it was causing internal bleeding. Once those meds left his system, the cancer took over. So I'm not advertising this food as some sort of cancer cure or alternative to medicine because lymphoma always wins no matter what you do even with high-powered medicine, and some forms of it move even more aggressively than the one he had. But I feel certain that without this food as part of his cancer treatment journey, he would not have been able to do all of his "bucket list" activities because even if he had lived the same amount of time he definitely would not have felt good enough to participate in normal doggy activities.

This company and their products, especially, Paradigm & Raw Vibrance, have made a huge quality of life difference in my dogs. They both love this food. One was several pounds overweight when she started the product. After a couple months she lost those pounds and looks great. Both dogs also completely stopped eating grass and dirt every time they went outside. The ingredients are real food. Yes, Paradigm is a bit “dusty”. That “dust” is filled with good healthy ingredients I want my girl to have. To me Paradigm is a game changer in my girls’ health. It’s great for senior dogs, or dogs with health issues like one of my dogs. The small amount of effort it takes to make and feed your dog this product is worth it.

Love this product. All healthy ingredients. Good for weight management along with adding human grade meat and oil. Since using this his poops have firmed up.
