I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars. Let me tell you it takes a FAT minute to get this thing figured out but still then, it's hard to get the ties to go on just the right way. I found that I was only able to get like... 7 on without having to use a push pin to pull down the bottom to stay onto the bracket. The smaller brackets on my bottom teeth I had like no issues using the tool getting them on. The others were a hassle. All in all. I like it.

Bought this to fix a missing bracket band the dentists forgot to put back on after doing some work on one of my daughter’s teeth. I can’t stand calling the orthodontist office to get a bad band fixed only to be told see you in two weeks, or we only have one appointment spot open to do that and of course it’s during the most inconvenient hour of the day, like school pick up for your other kids. Bought this, it works, fixed the problem and no extra errands. There is a small learning curve to using it but you’ll figure everything out pretty quickly. The bands are slightly thinner/smaller than the ones used at our orthodontist, once they’re on you don’t really see much of them poking out over the metal. Don’t get me wrong they do the job and hold everything in place, but if your thought is I’m going to color coordinate band colors with my outfits, change colors all the time or something like unto that you might be a bit disappointed. Of course bracket sizes may differ from one office to the next, this was just our experience.

I like the variety of rubber bands however the main reason I chose this product over others was because of the gun and it doesn’t really work if you were like me and saw the video of the kid putting them on incredibly easily and thought it can’t be that bad honestly I’d get another tool to apply the rubber bands since it will stretch them out and maybe make it easier to lay it over the top it won’t put it fully on so getting some tweezers for the rubber bands and getting a different multi colored pack might be cheaper and easier for you. I will say the rubber bands seem quality and they had silver so I thought that was good. That’s why it really only gets 3 stars and I feel that’s too kind.

I have bumper ligatures on my molars to help keep me from biting down on my brackets. Some of them keep coming off. Sometimes I find them and sometimes… I probably swallow them. I used to cal into my orthodontist to get another one put on, since they are just down the street. They are only open on Tuesdays, so I’d have to wait up to a week to get a new one put on. They are now out of the country for 6 weeks! They told me that is not a problem and I’d be fine without them for that long. Ummm, NOOO!

So, THANK GOODNESS for this product. It did take me a handful of tries to get a handle on the tool, which was expected, but that’s no problem. I probably won’t even use all of one color, or two, depending on how many times I mess it up next time.

Spending the small amount of money here is sooo much better than losing all the progress I made on a few of my teeth just to extend my time with braces by a couple of months.
