This book confirmed I am enrolled in the right program at the right time! Thank you Dr. Chism for articulating your thoughts and feelings in print. My dream is that fellow nurses who have their PhD, will one day see the value of the DNP prepared nurse, recognizing in concert we will make a difference!!

Required textbook. Lots of good information, will continue to use as references throughout DNP with specialization in anesthesiology schooling.

Was a recommended book for my class. Another NP kept referring to Chism, so I decided to order it. Book brought some needed perspective into what could've been a dry and boring topic. If you are taking DNP courses, or are considering a doctorate, I suggest you read Chism

Every DNP should have this book! Very good overall picture of DNP practice, why we practice, when we started, where we practice, advancement of the role, interpretation in the community covers all the basics every DNP or anyone who works with DNP's should understand.

This is a required text for school. It has some good information. My issue with the book is, for a scholarly text, Dr. Chism loves talking about herself. Most of her self-references do not add anything to the subject that she is writing.
