My 4-year-old daughter really wanted an amulet like Sofia the First. Despite the reviews stating how easily this necklace breaks, I thought we'd give it a try considering the reasonable price and appearance. My daughter loved the necklace, but it broke in less than 48 hours (see photo). The good news is that the rest of the necklace seems to be a bit sturdier, and we can use stronger glue to hold the purple stone in place. However, it's unfortunate when you purchase a brand new gift just to see the finish immediately begin to scuff off and the main piece breaks apart with the slightest use.

Beautiful necklace! This was a gift for our granddaughter's 5th birthday, it is her Princess Sophia amulet. The chain is of good quality and is completely adjustable, making it perfect for a child who is growing. The gem is gorgeous and it is surrounded by crystal stones which look very much like diamonds.

Perfect for a little girl's dress up necklace. I removed the chain and restrung just the pendant with other beads on elastic thread. Chain was good quality with a heavy clasp - more than adequate for the pendant by itself. I'll be saving that for other jewelry.

After reading the reviews, I had low expectations, but this was a gift for a five year old Sofia fan who tends to lose and break things easily. A week after Christmas and she is still happy with it. It does look like the picture and did come in a hard-to-open gift box. The clasp that holds the pendant on did pull apart once, but I was able to shape it back together. The chain has held up so far. The purple “gem” was scratched up upon arrival, but she didn’t seem to notice. Even though my expectations were low, I do think the price was still a little much for the quality. This necklace is a step or two up from something you would win in an arcade game. The diamond part that holds the gem is not solid in the back. The back of the gem is painted silver to make it look like one piece, but the paint is already wearing off. This is unfortunately visible through the gem when looking at it from the front as well- also making the scratches even more visible. I’m giving it three stars only because my daughter still seems happy with her “amulet.”

Oh boy, are we in love with this amulet!! We purchased this amulet for our 4 yr. old daughter who loves Disney's Sofia the First. She asked Santa for an amulet, and this was the most authentic, non-gimmicky one we could find...and at an amazing price. We knew we wanted to go the route of an actual piece of jewelry, and not something plastic that made noises and appeared to be a toy. This amulet fit our needs perfectly.
I was blown away when I first opened the box. It came in a tiny purple box with a bow, and inside the box was the amulet in a sheer purple bag. I knew instantly that my daughter was going to freak out on Christmas morning, and I was right. She was in awe of it right away and has worn it every day since. Because the pieces aren't soldered like more expensive jewelry, the amulet has fallen off of the chain once, but it was a quick and easy fix to hook it back on and squeeze together the piece that had separated a little. We talked about being more careful with it and haven't had any further problems, but I am considering taking it to a jeweler to get it soldered because she loves it so much and I'd hate for it to come off again and potentially get lost.

Overall, it's a fantastic amulet that she gets compliments on from kids and grown ups alike. It is a great size (on the larger side; not small and dainty), it sparkles and shines, and it feels very special. We're very happy with our purchase.
