This is an update to my last review of this item.Got as a replacement for a failed SmartClean system. This is replacement #3 since I started using this razor. The razor has outlived it's original cleaner, plus the first and second replacement before this one. Seems like these last about a year.The last one I purchased on 8/12/2017 lasted a year, it recently started developing a brownish color in the cleaning solution, which I have never seen before, and this took less than a month, which I find odd since the cartridges are designed to last two months. After I received this new unit, I put a fresh cartridge in it, and began using it normally, keeping an eye out for any odd changes in color. As an experiment, I also rinsed an old cartridge out completely, filled it with regular tap water, and ran clean cycles through the old unit as if I was cleaning a razor, but did not have a razor docked, so basically it was just circulating the clear water.After a few days, not even a week, and maybe 3 or 4 test cleaning cycles, I noticed a color change in the water, like a light brown, rust color (see attached photo). This indicates there's something wrong with that old unit. Due to the fact these last a year or so, and this new issue with the solution changing brown or rust color, I deducted a star, these should last longer than a year.
