They're a set of bandage cutting scissors -- the pink cap goes against the skin to prevent stabbing or cutting skin -- and they work really well. They slice thru gauze, moleskin, and elastic bandages with ease.

Other than aesthetically, there's nothing fancy about them. They're your typical, kind of cheap feeling, lightweight utility scissors. I chose this set because of the aesthetics, however. They're distinctive, with the pink grips, the ribbons and the black base over the outer blades. But truly, other than the distinctive look, there's nothing to set these apart from any other set of well-functioning utility scissors.

Personally, they're exactly what I wanted, and I am quite pleased with them. I have awarded them five solid stars accordingly, and would recommend and would buy again myself.

As a male EMT, I can assure you, these not only work great but as well as make for an awesome conversation starter. They are small and perfect fit for when hooking them to your pants or fitting them inside your pocket( I wouldn't recommend putting anything sharp in your pants). The bright pink and little hearts are comforting and repels others from borrowing them. While others carry dull grey and black colors, this little pink guy stands out and thus makes it so that I never leave them behind the Ambulance or Hospital floor. Wish the heavy duty, swiss army-looking ones came in such colors and hearts but these will do
