I was really impressed with this set and it has gotten a ton of use by my children, ages 2 and 5. Years ago I taught preschool and we had an earlier version of this set where the flames came out of the candles and were forever getting lost. The flames stay in the candles now, which is great! This comes with a nice storage bag (but it's hard to fit the menorah in). The bag makes it easy to store the small pieces without them getting lost. The dreidel really spins. Everything but the latkes is made with wood. This is really everything you need to pretend about Chanukah! It really helped my kids to get excited about the holiday. It could also be a great way for toddlers and preschoolers to light their own menorahs. We look forward to years of use out of this set.

This wooden Hanukkah set is great. It’s very well made and I know my girls can enjoy this for many years to come. I bought this specifically for my four year old who had to do a presentation in front of her preschool class about her heritage and family traditions. She loved using this to show them what we do during this holiday. Afterwards, she took it back home, and she continues to play with it, especially flipping the latkes. The menorah is fantastic too with the removable candles. She used it to “light” the candles for each 8 nights of Hanukkah. I really like this play set and would recommend it.

I was concerned about some of the bad reviews but the good reviews outweighed them. I’m very happy with the menorah and candles. My 16 month old grandson loves putting the candles in and out usually upside down. It’s very sturdy having been knocked over several times and the turner has been used as a beating stick for the pan. He chews on the latkes and wants me to spin the dreidel. When it’s time to clean up he has fun putting it all back in the bag. I recommend this set.

Love love love this set! The Menorah is really heavy, so that means it is made of real wood, but it also means you need to be careful if really small children might be playing with it, or older siblings might be tempted to clock a younger sibling in the head. The candles and flames are REALLY cute, and so far have been pretty chew proof between our two toddlers. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of quality, but I was really pleasantly surprised. I could see this set selling for twice as much as what we paid for it. We will definitely be pulling this out for years to come.

Quick update: we have owned this toy for nearly a year now. It has held up well, and still looks nearly new. My son has grown into the toy, and enjoys playing with it more than when he first got it. The candles come out of the menorah, and the 'flame' is also a separate piece so he can pretend putting in the correct number of candles, then 'lighting' them.

I bought it for my 2 1/2 year old son who wants to light the lights himself already, and wants to light them for at least a month after Chanukah is over. I thought giving him his own menorah would be a good solution (not so much, he still wants to play with our real menorah, but that's not KidKraft's fault). My son plays with the menorah sometimes and seems to like it pretty well. Plus it provides a lot of teachable moments spread out over the year, instead of for 8 nights, then nothing until next year.

The latkes are hard to flip for such a little guy, but might be more fun for pretend play for slightly older kids, or if your toddlers are very into that sort of thing. The dreidel they sent us had the letters in the wrong order, just FYI, if that's an issue for you.

It would be really nice for a classroom (at a Jewish school, or a classroom that teaches holidays as part of the social studies curriculum). Overall, a very cute toy and educational.

I should really link the video we took. It was priceless to see our son follow daddy as they both lit the candles on their menorahs. While the flames were on the small side (not chokeable) they were a perfect way for our son to "light his own menorah candles". We lost a couple of flames but later found them in a hidden slot of the highchair. We even looked into it and the maker has the option of buying replacement parts which is great to know for future years. It was great to see our son excited to have his own latkes, dreidels, etc. And everything was so solid and durable, we took the whole set to grandma and grandpa's too.

This is fantastic, my kids both love to play with it, they were upset when we had to put it away until next year. Yes the latkes are a little bit odd looking but the complete set is brilliant.

The children love "lighting' candles as the flame is removable.

It is all so well made that even after lots of play (not of all it gentle) the kit still looks fantastic. It even comes with a bag to store it all in.

I am certainly going to be buying more from this range.
