First off, an older edition of this was suggested as further reading when I took a class on human memory. Finding I had rather limited time already for the outside class materials I chose not to purchase it, and after the quarter ended I looked into it.
I preordered this book from Amazon, waited dutifully for the paperback edition to get printed, and since it has arrived I've steadily made time for it. The book so far is an excellent read, covering many of the materials that were presented in my class, and a few that were not, all in an easy to understand format.
The book is very easy to understand for this undergraduate psychology student, and approaches the topics as though you have no background in the field. I believe it strikes an excellent balance between a textbook, covering the essentials of the field, and a introduction to human memory. For now, while only a couple chapters in, it has been a great read and continues to compel me to find time to continue reading more. :)
