Lisa (author) is a shining soul, here to inspire the world. Through her work, thousands if not millions of people are being healed. She is amazing. Her book explains the SCIENCE behind the BRAIN and why things work the way they do, and how if you change your beliefs/thoughts, you change your brain, and then, change your LIFE! She writes in a clear and simple way for anyone to be able to read and "get it." You don't have to know about neuroscience or meditation or anything to read this book. It is for anyone of any level. After explaining how everything works, so you "get it," she gives you very simple, easy, practical ways to do meditation/visualization techniques to APPLY THIS TO YOUR LIFE. You don't need a lot of time to do this; you can do these meditations/visualizations for a few minutes or an hour; its really up to you. If you are looking for basic and life-changing information, do get this book. If you are still not sold or would like more information before you purchase this book, I would encourage you to go to her website, "The Neurosculpting Institute" at neurosculptinginstitute.com to learn more. She has lots of FREE resources and information as well. AND....she has classes (both in person and online), and RETREATS for those wanting more intense training. I highly recommend her work, and yes, this BOOK!

New Beliefs New Brain is a wonderful meditation manual and guide. It explains in simple terms the reasons we humans seem to accumulate and hold onto stress and tension in the body in a scientific, physiological manner, instead of in some sort of metaphysical manner. This is not to say that I object to a metaphysical explanation of things; however, it is very nice to have this subject discussed more objectively such as is done in New Beliefs New Brain. The book basically consists of a theory section and a section that outlines specific practices. The theory section was very informative, especially with respect to how our animal instincts toward survival (i.e., our fight or flight instincts) may manifest inside us as stress under typical, everyday types of situations and circumstances. The theory section by itself helps to increase one's consciousness about the cause of anxiety that then helps one to minimize stress from manifesting in the first place. The best part of the book for me though is the practical application section. Many guided meditations are provided that one can recite and record, and then use daily to help further release stress and anxiety and rewire the brain to avoid accumulating further stress and anxiety in daily life. The author also presents some very personal trauma that she has experienced and relates this very effectively to the subject. This is a book I highly recommend to anyone wishing to get serious about reducing stress and transforming bad and destructive habits.

Exercises, neuronal pathways, rewriting your story are the key words for this book. There are many exercises, for example, the first one is Grounding. You visualise a psychic cord reaching into the ground while you remain seated in a meditative posture. The exercise starts with the relaxation technique and then you follow part two of the exercise where you take a deeper look into an issue. The aim is to move you out of the reptilian brain into the prefrontal cortex. This is all about building a new story within your mind, so that when you are stressed, you have an alternative to your usual and habitual fight-flight-freeze response. Lisa Wimberger studied the brain and she was also able to overcome her own issues using the same techniques presented in the book. So when you buy the book, be prepared to meditate and visualise often, as you follow an exercise and you might need to record your own voice if that is what you prefer. Every exercise gives you steps to follow, so there are several scripts ready for you in the book.

As a practicing cognitive behavioral therapist and a clinical behavior analyst I found this book to be absolutely wonderful and explaining some of the things that I do with my patients. Not overly technical but yet credible enough in a scientific way to be able to bring out the best in spirituality and science. Practical in that it actually demonstrates effective ways of coping changing and living much more fully through neuro sculpting. So many so called self help books promise so much to people but fail to deliver. This is not the case in this work. But see for yourself read follow it's directions and enjoy.

This is a remarkable book. With its conversational tone the author, Lisa Wimberger, has succinctly culled together many complex ideas from various disciplines and presented them in a very palatable way. By generously sharing her own personal experiences she gives authentic testimony to her ideas and techniques. This is a book which has the potential to profoundly change the lives of all those who choose to put it into practice. The quotations from Einstein at the start of each chapter are like icing on the cake.

Lisa Wimberger makes neurology and meditation accessible and intriguing. The book is a great companion for exploring the perceptions and beliefs we each carry with us. I enjoy the combination of story, information and personal exercises running throughout the book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who believes that the brain is plastic, that we do have control over our thoughts and behaviors (and that finding that control is a journey!)

I've known about this book for years, and was finally ready to say yes to my healing. The meditations presented in this book have already taught me great skills to quiet my flight or flight responses. I look forward to adding these tools to toolkit. I immediately want to share it with my family members in law enforcement.

This book completed what Neurosculpting didn't -- the how-to of Lisa and her clients' success. This was the first time I'd been exposed to this type of visual meditation and I appreciate Lisa's generosity in sharing her knowledge.
