Let me start by saying that I'm a HUGE fan of Steve Chandler. I've read almost all his books, and dream of working with him someday. Crazy Good hit me with a big punch. The Prosperous Coach, of course, has been the ultimate coaching bible, and I continue to love and learn from Chandler's unique style. I liked Right Now, and maybe the reason it didn't hit me with a big punch - we get spoiled, don't we, we greedy readers ;) - is because I haven't yet developed my own internal spiritual self to see it. Right Now is naturally about the power of the present moment, an idea that we hear about over and over, and yet the truth and beauty of the message is real and necessary. Right Now is more a collection of stories from Chandler's life and business and inspiring stories of famous people - past or present - and these stories together illustrate the power of the present moment.

Chandler is a huge fan of one of my favorite teachers, Byron Katie, and so any reference to Katie's work lights me up too. There was a great question here in this book that I had not seen, it's Katie's question and it goes like this: "What is the thought that kicks you out of heaven?" A brilliant question that reminds us we all have a heaven or hell inside us, and we choose to go from one to the other traveling on fleeting thoughts. What if we were conscious about this and chose instead to stay in our heaven? What would that do to us? Beautiful and practical. I'm having my husband throw this question in my phase next time I complain or get down about anything at all. Life is better lived in heaven, and thoughts are the essence of our troubles. Chandler confirms Katie's brilliant teachings in this book and if you want a short read with lots of great stories, pick up Right Now right now (no pun ;)).
