The tables in the Kindle version are not readable

The tables in the Kindle version are not readable
Although the kindle version is very convenient to use, I was very disappointed to find that the tables in this kindle version are mostly unreadable. Specifically the long table in Chapter 5, which outlines the 5 paradigms (see attached screenshot). You can't zoom in to see the text and my kindle app on my computer actually froze when I wanted to turn the page after that table. I followed the advice of another reviewer and just used a similar table from a previous edition, but it is really disappointing that I could not use the latest one as I specifically bought this book to have the latest information for my PhD thesis.

I used this text for a qualitative methods course in my doctoral program. There are a few chapters in this 44 chapter, 1000 page book that are exceptional. However, most chapters are apologetics for the method and the socially marginalized. Qualitative research has a place in so many applications, from business and economics to sociology and political science. The book plays to every stereotype and criticism of qualitative research and doesn't transcend the objections with balanced research or writing. A disappointing echo chamber when so much could have been done to bridge the gap between the perception and reality of the method.

Almost new except the book came in broken. I need the book for class and can't risk returning it without falling behind. I had to use super glue to glue the spine back together.

Fantastic resource!

I needed this text for my doctoral-level Advanced Qualitative Research course. The professor was amazing, the course was decent, but the book is essentially a philosophy text, not a methods text. As such, it is unhelpful for novice researchers who need to learn how to plan and conduct qualitative research studies, write a dissertation, and manage, analyze, and write up the findings for the voluminous data that will be collected. As I am now writing my dissertation proposal including the methods chapter, it is more and more evident that this large book contains little that is actually useful to anyone in a Phd program.

This is ”the bible” of all qualitative researcher. If one is doing his or hers doctoral theses with qualitative research methods, this book is elementary methodokogical sourse. I have taught qualitative research methods at university for two decades and I have use different editions of this book.

This is an excellent resource for qualitative researchers. It includes the current state of science on several important issues. I used it as a graduate student completing a feminist narrative inquiry study. I would strongly recommend it.
