We enjoy the story over all. The climactic scene is particularly moving (the little bow, in particular). The movie as a whole is cartoonish at points, but it's consistent with the style and not distracting.

There are a few crude points, particularly with the courting of the ugly possible spouse, that could have been left out without issue, but they weren't bad enough to skip the movie entirely. I think the kids were just confused by them whereas they just seemed unnecessary and embarrassing to an adult.
