This is a wonderful book that explains what so few parents understand or realize. After months of testing for ADHD, Autism, Learning Deficiencies, etc, my son was finally diagnosed with several binocular issues by Dr. Parker in Savannah, Ga. He went through 18 months of therapy and has had wonderful improvements with not only grades, but also with his confidence and has gained a joy for learning, yes, even math! We have now moved to the Atlanta area and are seeing Dr. Cook and his staff for continued monitoring and assessment. My son even asks to go to his ocular assessment and therapy appointments! If you are at all perplexed by your child's struggles at school and have not found any typical answers, please read this book!

This book clearly explains the different types of vision problems that can affect anyone. Many of the problems described in this book are not routinely checked for by the vast majority of eye doctors. It explains how you can have a "normal" vision exam, yet still have struggles with reading and writing, despite having average or higher intelligence. If you have ever stood next to your child for hours, attempting to coax him/her to do homework until you have exhausted all of your ideas and yourself, only to have to repeat it again the next day, order this book. And take your child to a developmental optometrist for a thorough vision evaluation.
