"Highly Commended," Surgical Specialties Category, British Medical Association 2012 Medical Book Competition

"The production values of this book is of the highest order...All in all, this is a superb book which is a joy to use and is a most useful educational resource particularly when bundled with the online offering . Despite the high cost, a regular user will enjoy owning and using it." - Univadis, November 2011

"This classic textbook should be required reading at the beginning of any ophthalmology residency. It provides a general overview of ophthalmic diseases and pertinent surgical approaches encountered by all ophthalmologists in training, using a great balance between text and outline format, along with fantastic images." - Doody's Review Service - 5 Stars / Score: 97

I am an optometry student and this book was very helpful through out my course in pathology of both the anterior and posterior segment. I highly recommend it for any student or anyone who wants further explanation of ocular diseases and conditions. I plan to keep this resource throughout the rest of my career as a great reference.

The method of searching an ebook is different to flipping through a hardcopy, however it was expected. The pictures are fantastic on the iPad screen.

This is THE book to get for optometry and ophthalmology, as long as you don't need anything portable. If you do need something portable, go with The Will's Eye Manual. Anyone studying or treating eyes should have both!

Every eye doctor, OD or MD, should own this book. Great pictures and details for each condition. No complaints whatsoever, very satisfied with this product overall. Great price, fast shipping, excellent resource.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Student/Practicing Optometrists or Opthalmologists ''Bible''
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 15, 2011
This is a VERY detailed book, in some aspects a bit too much information (for a student looking for basics in eye disease), however combined with the colour photographs of the ocular diseased it is an essential book for those studying optometry to help with they ocular disease modules as well as for those moving into their pre-registration year. It is one of those books you can always refer back to if unsure of something or just want to recap on knowledge you already know.

The great thing is the book covers the conditions in a set way, i.e its spilts up chapters in terms of ocular physiology, i.e one chapter will cover all there is to know about Lids + Lashes while another will focus on conditions of the Retina... By splitting it up in this way it makes it alot easier to follow and a perfect reference guide.

The book itself like mentioned is all in colour and comes with actual images of the disease, so unlike some books where it may just describe what you would see in an ocular disease this shows you. It even goes further by showing you its development. i.e classic example is Diabetes, It shows you the stages/progression of the disease and different features you should be looking out for when conducting an eye examination.

It is one to recommend to all those in the opthalmology/optometric field, an investment in a book you will use throughout you career....
