Chew on this!
by M.Mae. (3 out of 5 stars)
June 2, 2016

I just received this bone. My 13 week old, 22 lbs Shepard puppy went crazy for this bone as soon as I gave it to her.

Pros:
- Promotes chewing. ( First time I've actually seen my puppy stay focused on a object and really chew)
- Not smelly.
- Affordable price.
- Distracting my puppy from my shoes, plants, furniture...(priceless).

Noted Drawbacks:
- Puppy is able to chew of small shavings (which is noted on the packaging as acceptable).
- I see this bone as having a short life span ( I will probably have to replace frequently).
**Update (06/14/16): Puppy was excited about this bone for about three days. See hasn't really played/ chewed on it since. Disappointing.**

Remington and his veterinarian are fans!!
by AWoofer (5 out of 5 stars)
September 9, 2017

Our vet recommended the flexible softer chew nylabones. The hard ones that nylabone offers can break teeth so this was her alternative. He was getting cow hooves and they were causing damage to his insides. She said to always check to make sure the bones you give are flexible. I am so glad I found these. Remington is on his second one and it's his favorite toy. When he breaks a piece off and chews it, the piece kinda crumbles in a way so it won't get stuck in his digestive track. These last quote a while. He's 9 months old but I will give him the puppy ones as long as amazon is selling them for as cheap as they are. They are pretty durable for a grown dog even though they are advertised for puppies.

Perfect for Teething Puppy
by QueenEvil (5 out of 5 stars)
December 7, 2018

I have a black lab puppy who loves to chew on anything he can get his mouth on. So of course I've had to take out a loan to buy every chew toy out there in order to make sure my house is still standing when I sleep or have to leave him even for 5 minutes at a time.

Not only does the flavor keep him interested, he's able to hold on to it with his paws and chew away. It's such a perfect chew toy for him I have bought two more. To add to how wonderful it is, his older German Shepherd sister loves it too (so I've had to buy more for both of them!) And she's not even teething.

I would certainly recommend this for anyone who needs a sturdy, long lasting and interest holding item for a power chewing, Jaw's like monster dog. :)
**I haven't had any issues with him chewing chunks off and choking on them, but I would absolutely say, as with all chew toys, you should monitor your fur baby to see how they handle the item before letting them have it on their own.

Lifesaver! BUT dangerous for puppies with adult teeth!
by Aimee Cowles (5 out of 5 stars)
August 1, 2017

This bone was an absolute lifesaver for us with our puppy (lab/heeler mix). She wanted to CHEW CHEW CHEW. The biggest problem was that she wanted to chew US. She was mouthing us like crazy and those puppy teeth were like razors. The smaller version of this was good, but too small, and could be carved up too quickly. The "Souper" size of this bone was our redirection lifesaver even though it looked ridiculously large at first. She would take it any time we were trying to get her teeth away from us. She would even play fetch with it. We brought it with he to the vet and her puppy training class to calm her. I can't recommend it enough!

All that said, we lost the bone when she started to get her adult teeth at around 6 months. Simultaneously, she became interested in all sorts of other, harder things to chew-- like cattle bones and bigger rope toys and nubby, harder Nylabones, for instance. I was excited to find this bone again for her at age 7 months, but she gnawed an inch of the thing in a few minutes with her powerful jaw and adult teeth. It says not for adult dogs or dogs with adult teeth on the package and that is NO JOKE! I can see how it would be dangerous to swallow all that chewed (or unchewed) plastic in one setting!!

Only for very young puppies
by Piper (2 out of 5 stars)
February 15, 2019

Totally my fault, but I bought this for my 1 year old thinking it was made of the same material as another puppy Nylabone she has. That one was also a flexi puppy chew but she could only rip off very tiny pieces. She enjoyed it so much and the only issue was it was too small so I wanted to replace it with this one. Anyway, I'm not sure what the difference in the materials is, but she was able to eat through half of this one in 45 minutes. Thankfully she vomited most of the big pieces she managed to get off. I would only recommend for a VERY young puppy.

Heavy Chewers Beware.
by Liz (1 out of 5 stars)
December 11, 2017

I've been getting nylabones for years, for my adult dogs. However, my vet recommended this for my youngest dog to protect his teeth. I ordered 2. I gave them to my dogs, my older dog was nice to hers. However, my pup was VERY excited for this new toy and in the space of maybe an hour or 2 he ATE half of it. This made him very sick. If your dog loves to chew, DO NOT BUY.

I buy these in BULK for my pup. My ...
by Sarah B (5 out of 5 stars)

I buy these in BULK for my pup. My dog really likes to tear things into little shreds and spit them out. We had gotten her one of these as a puppy and we kept buying them for her as an adult for that reason. The hard one's didn't really do it for her and they cut up her gums a bit. It takes her about a day to completely shred one of these - but for me the couple dollars are worth the time and energy spent. We end up with little chunks of plastic all over, but I don't mind it in the end.

You will see these in your dogs poop, but they will like to eat them before that happens
by Amazon Customer (4 out of 5 stars)

I really like these for my wiener girls. They love the flavor. They aren't overly aggressive chewers. I would not recommend these for a moderate chewer or above, as they would devour in no time. I can usually give to one of the girls for a short chew session, maybe a half hour, and they will get a good 1/8 to a 1/4 chewed off in that time. One thing you do have to watch for is if they eat them, it does not dissolve well in the poop. You will see this come out the other end. I wish it were more dissolveable, but I will purchase again because they enjoy their time with them.

NOT SAFE or DURABLE
by Amazon Customer (1 out of 5 stars)
November 2, 2019

I ordered the large chew bone for our Puppy; based on description and reviews. I chose the larger bone so she would have more fun mastering the skill of learning how to chew and play with her bone. She is 17 pounds/4 months old. I work (in my spare time) with Rescue Pet groups, so I'm usually on spot with choosing good Pet toys. I DO NOT recommend this toy at all!!!! My Puppy had chewed on it less than 24 hours and it broke, I had to get parts and pieces out of her kennel. The nylon made her gums bleed. I'm grateful she's not dead and the small parts she ate she did pass in her poop. Fortunately no bleeding or internal injuries. NO NOT BUY this product!! A puppy should not be able to destroy this large bone so fast. She's a Black Lab.

I'll be returning ASAP for a full refund. Very disappointed.

Perfect for my pup
by Stephanie J Wright (5 out of 5 stars)
May 11, 2019

I have a 4 month old aussie. She's not terribly chewy but her older brother, a border collie mix, has loved this thing. He chews a lot but not to destroy things so he got her started but this bone has held up and is suiting her perfectly in the middle of all her teething. I really appreciate the size and lack of smell. It is slightly bendable but tough and doesn't seem to leave little pieces of itself everywhere.
